Lorena’s job is to keep all of her children, ages two through 11, well fed. But these children aren’t hers; they are students of St. John’s Episcopal Church & School. She is contracted to create healthy meals and snacks for the students year-round.
Since 2011, Lorena has housed her business, Super Growers – a catering company- in the school’s kitchen, creating healthy and home-made meals. Though she works with the school’s kitchen, she still needs to supply her own food and come prepared with her personal cookware.
To spice up her business, Lorena needed a loan to purchase new cookware. She ventured to Chase Bank, who then informed her about the nonprofit microlender LiftFund She says with the loan, she is now able to create more food for the students.
